I’m preparing a Float Conference talk on a secret topic and in visiting the public health department of all 50 united states, I’ve noticed that most of them have no specific distinction between floatation tanks and public swimming pools.
Washington appears to have the most specific recognition and standards for floatation tanks:
- they have a full webpage on site construction – https://doh.wa.gov/community-and-environment/water-recreation/regulated-facilities/float-tanks
- They have an 11-page guide entitled “Guidelines for Regulating Floatation Systems as Special Use Pools”
how fitting that the latest float conference will be held in Washington.
Florida
has explicit regulations about float centers and float tanks as well.
Wisconsin did a double-take and quit regulating tanks
What is very interesting is the story of Wisconsion and how they had float tank standards in 2014 but then rescinded them in 2015.
Conclusion
It is interesting that a practice that probably sees 100,000 people per month in the united states does not have explicit public health guidelines in all 50 states.
Just a teaser about my secret topic: the so-called standards of health in all 50 states, including washington and Florida are all questionable from the metaphysical standpoint.
